The Youth Red Cross was introduced in the college in the year 2017 and functions as a wing of the Indian Red Cross Society, Orissa State Branch, Bhubaneswar. The principal nominates one members of the teaching staff as counsellor in order to promote and organise Red Cross activities among the Youth in the unit. Membership of the YRC unit is open to all the students of the college who desire to participate in its programmes of activities. The motto of YRC is “To Serve”

Objectives of the Youth Red Cross are to promote among the students philantropic service, friendship, leadership, self-reliance, dignity of labour and skills to render necessary service as and when required. Recently, disaster preparedness has been accepted as one of the service area.
Activities :
Every year the Youth Red Cross Unit conducts a basket of activities such as training programmes, camps, meetings, rallies, awareness programmes, seminars, debates, various competitions, observation of important days, etc. in order to fulfill its objectives. The YRC Unit organises Blood Donation Camp in the college each year. Selected volunteers get the rare opportunity to take part in the District level, Zonal level, State and Inter-state level YRC Camps.
